This is the result of when you slam your thumb in the car door and rip it out whilst the door is closed. On easter sunday as i was getting out the car, i did exactly that. After two weeks, this is what it looks like. I had split my nail in half, ripped off the tip of my thumb and the underneath nail bed has been split also. I took this on tuesday when i got my stitches removed and today i'm changing the dressing. The pain of all this is incredibly unbelievable, and still hurts after two weeks. The Doctor said it will hake about a month before the nail will start to re-grow and be back to normal.
